TODAY IS MINE! TOMORROW IS YOURS! by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Ever begin and end your flight with a smile
Let your life divinely justify itself to an endless mile,
For moral and immoral living, themselves ever speak
Even when we are silent not to speak.

Haha! All will be like a play
When sun will say bye to a day,
Nothing will be taken for the journey
No matter what hearts, did acquire with money.

Thought the experience is not for all
Thought was meant for the short not the tall,
Thought it may consider the rich not the poor
But never knew will arrive to smile at everyone’s door.

Haha! See a trip no one can escape
An experience, not to give mouth a chance to gape,
But quietly join the dearest ancestors and go
In order to give account of gifts/talents given to sow.

All properties, as said, must be kept behind
Don’t forget this, keep it in mind,
Only true legacies, yes, will live not to die
Remember this, lets be moral without a regretful sigh.

Haha! It’s not to be ignored; years spent on earth matter not
It’s only good deeds, forever communicate a lot,
Then, lets remember too; for dancing on a stage never matter
But type of step taken, judges all to be worst or better.

Then, in us, let ever invite God to dwell
That we may not experience a devilish cell,
As a call remains, to imitate those who ended life saintly
And to faithfully follow Our Lord gently.

God First, Love First by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

CAN WE BE SAINTS AS WELL? by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Their sweat never in vain
Their lives never escaped pain
Their race ended with no stain
To them, God awarded heaven a gain.

With love they carried cross with smile
Tough it was, seeing multiple pains did compile
Still, they never complained, but all sent to a heavenly profile
Where every data is kept in one's beautiful file.

Today we call them Saints
Not because they were blessed with uncountable cents
But all, fruits of divinely compliments
As God's faithful and courageous servants.

They are people born like we in their due
Challenges, temptations they encountered like we do
Evils they rejected, good they held; and kept lives new
Like flowers receiving fresh morning dew.

November first, celebration calls for Solemnity
In Solemnity, a day recalls people's simplicity
Because of simplicity, they grabbed crowns from Divinity
Which granted them favour to inherit the joy of Trinity.

Now, we meditate on what we are pursuing to possess
Now, lets be calm and examine our conscience
Now, lets ask; but where are our lives thirsting for maintenance
As a day invites all to celebrate our Brothers and Sisters' success.

Yes!  Our time has rightly come
To grab and offer virtues a welcome
So that our lives may not contradict, what God has for us to become
Which is nothing but holy life; ever greater than earthly income.

Do you know! We can be saints as well?
Nothing it takes but to corporate with God's grace to dwell
Even when the world has declared us a hell
Fear not, hate evils; call and turn to God and hold Him tight as well.

Dear God, today I declare myself a sinner
With you, I remain certain to be a winner
As I stand to reject evils laying ambush at every corner
For You alone, God! Is a true Helper and Partner.

THE JOURNEY IS OVER, SLEEP WELL BROTHER by Joseph C. Ogbu (Joenwaogbu)

Like thunder, you struck with no fear
With no sympathy, you arrived to offer hearts pain to bear,
Death; with no conscience, you plucked him so young
Indeed, life remains a mystery with unique songs to be sung.

Today, we are here
Tomorrow, we must be there,
Yesterday was story of birth
Today unfurls story of death.

With no doubts, life usually made a divinely plan
But nature swiftly stops at a man,
Who often seen on cassock and sash
To offer him a serene pash.

All for what please? Not to stay more with his family
But to offer them a last smile, and join a silent queue gently,
Grimace faces, a day brought to us to watch
Restive mouths, relatives have given to catch.

Shattered hearts, brothers are here to endure
Seeing their brother lying, like a sleeping soldier; for sure,
Yes, a brother whose vision was to pray with chasuble
And zeal was to defend and make his Christian faith visible.

But today, see; his song never chanted
His play never finished to be acted,
As a devoted Christian, who accepted celibacy
A better way! He said; to follow God and stay under His supremacy.

Look around; See men standing to welcome a Brother
On official outfits standing, to escort their Brother,
Whose eyes, gently closed like a monk in a meditation
And face too bright like a sun on a morning visitation.

Please! Behold a man on an eternal slumber
That visited him on a month of October,
Not to enjoy the Litany of the Saints on earth; as he wished
When his feast would have fixed to be witnessed.

Yes, thought was to freely prostrate before the Altar
But watch; he rested before the Altar,
Without a word, without even a smile
This but pains death has come to compile.

Brother! Nothing we have to say, but have a safe journey
For your earthly race is thru; calling a heavenly journey.

With one accord we pray; Rest in peace Brother
Receive Your son, Merciful and Supreme Father,
And give his sins a pardon
For we believe; forever he will jubilate in your Kingdom.

FATHER! NO ONE BUT YOU by Joseph C. Ogbu (Joenwaogbu)

What would have been our song, if You would have responded No
Where would have we washed, if You would have treated cross as a foe
Who would have been our Saviour, if You would have said no to humility
When would have our liberation arrived, if You would have ignored simplicity?

Oh! Wounded Lord; Carried a cross like no other
Cross too holy, not once measured with another
Perpetually treasurable; the same! Remains a Healer
Standing ever, still! Offers our faith a stanched Pillar.

Beloved Lord, You alone played this mighty game
That refined humanity and took away our shame
Through Your agony, shouldered by a heavy cross
With love; So to cleanse us from our sins, our cause.

Please, embed in us a reflective spirit before Your Holy Cross
That everyone may be calm; to unload one's heavy cross
Which repeatedly gives head a tough and sleepless night
Delaying life from seeing her glittering and true light.

Ever we pray, to unity with Your Holy Cross, oh Master
To achieve any delaying nice vision and mission faster
And to quickly grab Your grace, flowing like a river
Standing wholly to bless and purify hearts forever.

Please! Come to our aid, oh caring Lord
And tear our weaknesses with Your mighty sword
That we may ever live to be liberated
As children who daily admire Your name, to be celebrated.

PASSIONATE PLEA by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

See them, with revolving sockets so dry,
head too big with scraggy necks,
flatulent sickly protruding bellies,
grey hair at tender age,
 unkempt and stylishly dreaded,
thin arms that expose all the junctures
and streams of their veins and arteries,
creatures whose cravings are,
not to appear in tatters and rags,
that but evident of their poor background
and absence of one to lift their shoulders
each time weariness may come to them to dwell,
the miseries and pains of these victims
keep on portending
the untrammeled biases
hidden in creatures.
Indeed, their plea, a passionate one
that they may dine with the kings and queens,
the best privileged to be seen,
a moment of joy and relief,
a dream daily expected
that they may gladly smile with their fellow
and enjoy their gifted existence.
Then, ask not to know them,
be calm and see them all over,
roving on our streets,
roaming around our homes,
 crying beside our tables,
pleading for a drop from our spoons
that they may regain strengths
to battle the dramas of life
which unfold with no mercy.
Then, let us offer favour to whom we can
especially the helpless orphans, widows and the marginalized
for they often see us as kings and queens
who can heal their painful wounds.

THOUGHT WAS ON A THRONE "1" by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

I thought it was a feast
My mind said, it was a coronation
Hands too heavy, filled with gifts
That it was not easy raising them,
Only by the assistance of neighbors.

Weariness overwhelmed body
Due to over-relaxation on a throne,
Visitors, known and unknown; all with gifts
Presenting them with a full respect; Yes I remember,
Glad I was to joined the chorus of an epitaph.

Though voices smooth and melodious
But never knew a sound may not justified a taste,
Never knew I was on a painful song with my people
Whose hearts were filled with bitterness and cracks
Mind deceived; saying, relax! on a feast you are with your people.

God! I thought I was singing, but it was not,
I saw myself lucky and joyous, welcoming crowd,
I truly thought, I was a greatest king ever
Who lies on exclusive throne; but it was pure fiction,
Never knew my thoughts were mere illusion.

Cars on convoy I thought, belonged to me
Women around, I thought I was Solomon
Children on hide-and-seek, I thought all were mine,
Men at work, I thought my servants were good workers
But never knew the business of men was on one's grave.

On a queue saw but great people coming to my throne
Bowing and waving hands in respect before me,
Some like genuflecting emotionally
Others lying prostrate before my throne,
Amazed I was, for I recalled my status.

Suddenly, fear arrived with no invitation
Tried calling a servant holding a bright
And decorated candle light
But seemed my voice was not louder to reach him,
Then, what may I do?

Different signs used to call attention
But thought he pretended not to see nothing,
Still, an eye contact offered,
But unbelievable,
My servant decided not to obey, I hopelessly thought.

Aggressively, I tried jumping from my smooth throne
Then, I finally heard a harsh and sorrowful trumpet
Blowing without one's intervention; so everything was illusion!
That was when, I finally recognized; oh! I am dead,
And all thoughts were nothing but thoughts in a casket.

Yes! let us know that Death loves everyone
And fights everywhere
With no consideration, on where mounted a boundary,
Then, as we keep watching the deceased
Let us not forget to prepare our relics.

Know that, as we remember the dead today,
So shall we be remembered latter,
Let us be humble, and truly live this life,
For no one knows when the bell will ring,
Or when the sorrowful trumpet may cry again.

Then, be courageous and never fear death
Knowing that her generosity must be enjoyed
Without prejudice, but with undivided love,
Now, lets get ready and follow the sound of her drum,
As drum sounds, be humble, faithful and gladly join the queue.

PLEASE HAVE MERCY, THEY ARE HUMANS! by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Just know they feel the same pain
Their dreams, wishes and plans the same
Don't let these treasures waste in vain
Innocent, guiltless as they came

They never violated God's or anyone's right
Fume and wail all they cry
If one could come to their plight
Then dreams and wishes sure to fly

One thing for sure would do a kind
A scissor away, love in sight
So they may have peace of mind
Then a future sure, tall and bright

Ever had this in mind
A decision made could be a killer or saviour
Think of giving the unborn, that which remains kind
With this you can do a favour.

GOD FIRST by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

No matter what,
Ever hold Him tight,
Gladly follow Him, to do what is right,
For your path, He will keep bright,
Even when darkness is on a fight to block your sight,
Remain strong and hold him tight
For He will ever help you on your fight
So that you may have a safe flight
Taking you to where you may give the world a true light.

BE GOOD IN GOOD by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Permit popularity to rest on positivity
Through genuine activity
For an unfading integrity and purity
That heart may receive divine beauty
Dazzling on that planned by the Almighty
To humanity, without penalty.

WHAT TRUE LOVE DOES by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

An unspoken language of love,
Ever sings melodiously and gently in a heart,
Gives unique melody to a soul,
Offers strength to a drained shoulder,
Drops healing to a bruised heart,
Gives solace to a desolated face,
Remains companion to a lonely one,
Brings peace and unity to a divided mind,
And keeps joy at every corner of the earth,
Oh! There is greater power in love,
In love, we find joy,
Just know that everyone needs love; Give it out.

REMEMBER! by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Remember
Simplicity shouldn’t be judged as stupidity or timidity,
Remember
The world without end, but we arrived not to ever live,
Remember
On a race we all stand to face, returning back to our eternal home.

OUR FEAR by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

This I think heads fear,
Death I think we fear,
Yes, we fear death
For not have discovered her beneficial nature,
No, she is not wicked, she is kind,
Then, think of it,
Drop thy ear on thy chest,
So to understand better the language of thy heart
And listen wisely
To hear a humming  song from thy breath,
So, Meditation is a better solution to understand our existence.

SHOW THY FACE by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

The beauty of heart surpasses all,
Nothing deceives heart than masked faces,
Nothing injures soul than a toxic tongue,
Now, there is nothing to be done, than
Striping the masked faces behind the stage
Before joining the earthly dance on the stage,
Where everyone is called to play a divinely given roles faithfully.

HAPPINESS HEALS by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Why! Why!! Why!!!
Seems bitterness has crowned a heart,
Seems Joy is calling to depart,
But why! Do not know,
Not feel like being happy hence,
But keeping it for who to be inherited?
Do not really know!
Maybe keeping it for where life may eternally rest later,
Do not know,
But is the Where known
 And certain to be achieved?
Who knows!
Though, all must be justified at the last breath
When body will be kept to enjoy unending sleep,
Yes! That, I know,
But please, do not wait till the justification hour,
But hence be happy
 And truly live this life,
For Happiness is not expensive
It is affordable and intensive
Because All, poor and rich
Have given the gift to own the factory,
So, be happy,
Maintain your factory
And forget your ordeals,
Knowing that happiness is there to offer a healing.

NOTHING BUT CONTENTEDNESS by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Once thou keep living,
Hurdles of life inescapable remain living,
Thou often say;
Understandable remains the rhythm of life,
But have thou ever experienced the rhythm of death too?
Let us be contented on things we have,
Before dying and longing for what we have not,
For truth it remains to be,
knowing that
The world is beyond our conception,
Yes, it is,
Do not forget.

THINK OF IT by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Have you ever thought that,
Older we grow in age
Younger we become to our graves,
So, let us be humble
And faithfully play our roles while living,
So to give polish to our true lives.

LOVING COMMUNITY by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

An organized and loving community
Is a healing and comforting home,
That offers relief on a wounded part,
Keeps water on a dried throat,
Applies oil on a dried lip,
And endlessly
Keeps love at every doorpost of humans.

She Is A Lover by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

No creature can stop her arrival,
No one can avoid her precious gift,
Fear not to welcome her,
Be generous to offer her a seat,
But never forget to keep your hands clean while serving her,
Knowing that the Pure, she offers a nice place for a rest,
Yes, she is no one but Death.

LET US STAY ON THE RHYTHM by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Learn to love by loving
Ever show mercy and love before sacrifice
For love ever remains the Greatest,
Then, let us unmask our faces
And give true love to our neighbors,
For love forever generates from love
Just love for the sake of love
And never move away from her beautiful rhythm
For love ever remains love.
