A SONG TO A LOVER by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Thank You Lord, for You assisted us to crossover
Nothing we would have done
If you had said never
Adonai! You are our greatest backbone.

Thank You  Father, for guiding us to see a new year
Despite the horrible songs and rhythms of passed days
With love; You never permitted our bodies to lie bare
Still keep us to enjoy more  fruitful and precious years.

God, we pray that  this year may be blessed and joyous
Please, direct us through every road that is  beautiful
And may this  year bring God's peace and love to us
And may our divine plans ever be successful.
Amen.

EUCHARIST, ENGINE OF OUR FAITH by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Arise! embrace a Sacrament
Greatest of all; with no supplement
Instituted on Holy Thursday by the True Master
That hearts may ever remain brighter
And divinely; for souls to be nourished
To be healthy; not to be perished.

Here dwells an engine of our faith
Here lies the breeze of our breath
The hope and strength of every life
A helper and reconciler in moment of strife
A true giver of grace to the receivers
Ever remains the joy of believers.

Yes! This is but the Most Holy Eucharist
In It, directly; hearts often  welcome Christ
Who gave Himself up, on a powerful Cross
To save all from a devilish curse
Especially souls which daily receive the Sacrament
With a pure devotion; without an evil sentiment.

Oh! the Most Holy Eucharist
In Thee, Christian life is admired to the highest
For Thou stand firm as a Corner Stone in every life
And still feed souls with an eternal life
Through Thy wonderful Transubstantiation
Which confers grace on souls with a devotion.

Before Thee, Adoration we humbly bring
Without Thee, Church has no bell to ring
In Thee, we unseasonably prostrate to live
Outside Thee, thy people have no virtue to receive
If not Thee, our hope then nothing but darkness
For that, we ever acknowledge Thy Goodness.

Oh Eucharist; Proud we are to have Thee
Thy wonders, daily we grab and see
Thy splendor ever guides feet on a right way
Often conquers evils not to come to stay
And keeps true friendship between humans and Jesus
Whose blessings rain from the Eucharist for the sake of us.

Lord, nothing we can do without Thy precious Gift
That Church saw and called the Most August Sacrament
In which Christ Himself is fully contained
Offered and received, that graces may be gained
With no penny nor riches of any nation
Only to be grabbed with a pure heart and true disposition.

Oh The Most Holy Sacrament, Our hope
Please tie our faith with a heavenly rope
That hearts ever may live to feel Thy glory
For in Thy Mystery, we believe to be holy
As Thou eternally remain in Liturgy, the Center
And to the christian life, the Greatest Supporter.

Lord, we thank Thee for Thy incomparable gift to the world
Stronger and sharper faith, than a warrior's sword, we plead
We ask;  be on our side, that legs may not miss  true direction
Live in us, that we may stand to conquer every temptation
Hold our arms, that we may not slip into an evil pit
And bless our deeds, that Heaven; all at last, be deemed fit.

NI PIGO ZITO KWETU na Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Sauti nzuri iliosikika asubuhi; Ghafla kaenda wapi jioni hii?
Tabasamu hufanya jumuiya ifurahi; Tena hayupo katika jamii,
Wapi yupo sasa wetu Mama; Ulimi unashindwa hata kusema
Nasi ugumu tunapata kusema; Sista wetu safiri salama,
Kifo, uchungu, mioyo imejazwa; Sababu hatupo naye Mpendwa
Uso ulionekana mzima jana; Kwa machozi wote twatafuta Sana,
Sote tukumbuke tuko folenini; Na mwisho tutakutana naye Mbinguni,
Basi, Mungu mwenye huruma; Umjalie Sr. Wenseslaus Olomi neema
Ili aweze kukaa nawe daima; Na afurahie kuwa Nawe vema.

UTENZI WANGU KWAKO, na Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Pokea wangu utenzi
Ee Bikira wetu Mpenzi,
 Malkia wa mbingu na dunia
Sijui neno gani zuri kukusifia,
Hauna doa wala hila
Mwenye upendo kwa kila kabila,
Wema wako daima hauzuiliwi na mipaka
Uzuri wako kama nyota daima huwaka,
Maisha huoana na yako huruma
Utenzi huimbwa, Umejaa neema,
Kwa moyo safi twakushukuru
Kusafiri nawe haikosekani nuru,
Basi, pokea wangu utenzi
Mama yetu,  Bikira Maria Mpenzi.

NO BODY by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoenwaOgbu)

Daily reminds mind what is pertinent
I come before Thee not to be silent ,
Oh Lord, My Father
Please hold  me, that we may live ever together,
Even when I may offend Thee, claiming the world is noisy
Or forget Thee, pretending to be too busy,
Or think I am strong, when life decides to smile gently
Or feel to be the best, because nothing seems ugly,
Or give no gratitude, thinking I can do all alone
Or remain snubbish, thinking flesh will ever stay with  bone,
Or justifying myself  worthy of every grace
Without knowing, Thou ever keep feet  firm on a race.
Oh Merciful Father, please forgive every bad attitude
For clearly  I have known with certitude,
That no body but Thee, is my true Helper
Who bless and ever stand to make heart God's true Worshiper.

NAKED DANCER by ValTony Ogbu

Naked dancers on the street
Strippers even in the house of the maker.
And you call this modernity and fashion?
Indeed the whole saga begs clarity.
You walk half clothed; exposing contours
At the mercies of the devouring vultures
Mocking the very subtleness of your nature.

Your words lure flies from all corners
Your vulgarism naughtily your boldness.
Oh! How little would your feeble mind know
How these revered words carelessly thrown
Name you, a victim of inordinate pleasure.

Your steps mock the dignity of our ancestry
Prodigies of ugly trend;
Exposing the rivulets of your virginities
Selling your wares to unworthy buyers
In cornered street without mutual bargains.

Your major customers become "gluttony"
Men with unsuited personality and loose principles.
And you cry, ASSAULT!
When your accursed fashion directs their act.

Yes! The crime is a crime, no excuse
But the streets are flooded with thousand of naked souls
And uncensored minds
Urging them on and on
For an improper but " palatable" meal on the table of abuse.

JoenwaOgbu

BADO IPO, HAIJAPOTEA na Joseph C. Ogbu (JoenwaOgbu)

Naomba toa mkono kidevuni
Na ufute machozi mashavuni,
Nini haki yako unawaza imepotea
Muamini Mungu tu atakurudishia,
Maisha haya ndo kawaida yake
Ni kama fumbo maanayake,
Acha kufadhaika, ni muda wa kutabasamu
Furahi! Mungu hatakuacha kwenye jamu,
Basi simama, Mama anakuita! Toka kwenye mahangaiko yako

Eti,vijana leo siyo yenu ngojeni kesho! Hahahaha... Kesho uniache, mimi najituma sasa.

Vijana leo ndiyo yetu, kesho haifiki.

SWEETHEART IS VIRGIN by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoenwaOgbu)

Permit me to explode my love
Forget my weaknesses for you I have
Before your hut, I stand to dance
Open your door, a word I have to pronounce
Listen to my poor voice, I have something to sing
Pay heed to my plea, that my life may not develop a wing
Oh Sweetheart, please reject not my love
For my heart, Love; I ever stay to give
My Love! It's You; I will daily love with no tarry
You are Virgin, You are Blessed and Mother, You are Mary
Then, Beloved Mom, teach me how to love faithfully
Even when its reward may be painful and seem ugly.

MIMI MTAJIRI na Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Yangu ni kukushukuru; Na wala si  kukufuru,
Magoti  chini nakuomba; Baba tusafiri sambamba,
Mkono wako wa nguvu; hakika huponya maumivu,
Naomba niseme asante;  bila Wewe dunia haifai lolote,
Haya yote kabisa  si haba; nasema asante ee Wangu  Baba,
Basi tusimame wote wadau; tuchezecheze bila  kusahau;

Peke yako, sitakuacha
Wewe upendo, sitakuficha.
Upendo hujenga maisha yawe imara,
Kabisa kupenda haina hasara.
Nashangaa tena hauna hata tabaka,
Ila ndani hujazwa tupu baraka.
Loo! zawadi kubwa sana tulizojaliwa,
Kugawia wenye nguvu na waliolemewa;
Sawa kwa wakubwa na pia kwa wadogo.
Tukijua upendo una nguvu si kidogo;
Basi Upendo mikononi tushike sote,
Ili dunia iendelee kumeremeta kwa wote.

Eee MPENZI WANGU na Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Unishike Mpenzi wangu nifurahi; Kukaa Nawe kabisa si mwiko
Midomo yangu tu Shukrani; Nikumbukapo Uzuri Wako,
Moyo wangu unashangilia; Wema Wako nafaidia
Uwepo Wako nafurahia; Huruma Yako yasaidia,
Kwa moyo safi nasherekea; Sura Yako nasemea
Wimbo wangu nimekuletea; Ngoma safi imekolea,
Ili nitimize ulichoweka kwangu; Na mwisho nije salama Kwako.

KEEP ON THY FORE by Joseph C. Ogbu(JoeNwaOgbu)

Ever pray not to forget hands;
That fetched water
When throat was burning,
Tongues that truly gave soul consolation,
Words that stitched and healed a pricked heart,
Heads that made one comfortable in an alien land,
Minds that accepted one's weaknesses and unworthiness,
Legs that walked with one on a tough and rough road,
Steps that never abandoned one in the desert,
Arms that grabbed shoulders tight during a hurricane,
Fingers that placed oil on dried and dying lips,
Mouths that offered solacing advice on a wounded  heart,
Hands that provided shelter when it was heavily raining,
And palms that carried umbrella when sun visited with austerity.
Remember! Don’t Forget!
To  forgive and wish good to those who offered thee injuries,
Yes! It might be too hard to endure,
But forgive with smile, and keep life shining,
Still! It might appear unbearable,
But remember! Love and forgiveness
Ever remain the best gifts to give oneself and another,
For with these, God will ever stand to bless us.
God first! Love first!
So that the world may be more suitable for All.

TUWE IMARA na Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Shika ya msingi yasipotee,
Imani lazima tutetee,
Acha hofu sasa tutembee;
Twjua watakatifu wapo watuombee,
Na baraka wanaleta sasa tusogee,
Ila mikono lazima isafishwe tupokee,
Tuweze kuishi kwa Mungu, na neema tuogelee
Na mwisho utakatifu, sote tufikie.

Maisha sasa tukae na kufikiria,
Ili tuweze kutimiza kazi zinazotusubiria,
Bila kulalamika na pia kulia;
Muda wowote tuweze kutulia,
Na kushika waovu na kukemea,
Hata ikiwa dunia nzuri; inatembea kama inalegea,
Imara maadili tukae na kusimamia,
Na maishani; kusema hapana kwa mbaya tabia.

He Will Restore Our Joy by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

See the world biting fingers in agony
Hold the rain to stop, that our days may get sunny
Day and night, bitterly we cry and mourn
As though the world promises no hope to be won.

Don’t live in fear, God is still on the Throne
Hold Him tight, no disease will visit thy wone
Be not discouraged, thou won't be called departed
For thy precious life will divinely be protected.

Be glad for thou will live to conquer any pandemic
Forget tongues, whose wishes are not angelic
But always threatening and trapping heads with fear
As if the world is theirs to grab and wear.

Yes! Days may unfold gloomy in every continent
Panic not, thou won't be taken to a restless and painful tent
For soonest! Tongues will again shout; God take Thy glory!
For saving us from diseases and a deadly worry.

Never be afraid; we are among the survivors
Who will surely enjoy God's multiple favors
Not because we are worthy or from a particular race
But it’s nothing but God's endless love and mercy.

Please then, Wipe your tears; stop weeping
Please, Smile again; forget the whipping
Even though Our Beloved surely left before us
Be hopeful! God will bless us more, with Gifts too Precious.

I CAUSED THE BLOW! by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

 Tears upon a haggard brow
Lord have mercy! I caused the heavy blow
No one but I, painfully made thy blood to flow
Even though I may claim not to know
My sins, my vices, all shamelessly stayed on a row
Separating our intimacy, causing me to have no trow
Deceiving me not to stay with Thee and grow
Despite Thou ever hold me not to be trapped below
That my life may remain with a heavenly dow
Still; I forgot, for my sake Thou humbly bent low
Wearing sharp thorns as Crown and taking as pillow
So to my soul to be saved, both today and tomorrow.

Yes! The hour is coming so quick
When faith again, will be firm and thick
When heads won't experience any bad kick
Neither will body feel any crick
Stand then! It's time to be well not to be sick
For Christ is here to save life from any sharp prick
Be bold! Thou won't fall; Drop thy walking-stick
Wakeup; before Him, unload thy heavy brick
Look! On thy table lies a blessing to pick
Knowing that promise of His, has no devilish trick
For His mercy leads head not to end as a hick
Even when heavy rain keeps all roads slick.

Rejoice! Is time to move to the peak
Be strong, don't be weak
Fear not; grab blessings of the Holy Week
Come to thy Father, open thy mouth and speak
Move with him, offer thy legs no break
Embrace Him, He won't allow thy life to leak
Stay with Him; His presence contains no reak
Trust! He knows a suitable activity for thee as a geek
Forgive thy foes then, put away the wreak
With no doubt; Master loves a heart that is meek
For His love a mighty treasure to be grabbed and offer a deek
Then! Let's be focused and forget world's daily creak.

A BLOW ON PRECIOUS LIFE by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Many daily cry for freedom
In oneness, they ask for establishment of their kingdom
So as to uncover their immoral thoughts and opinions
Seeking widely souls to deceive as companions.

Birth control they boldly and aggressively demand
Unborn babies still matched like mere sand
With no sense of love and mercy
Thinking all will definitely award them supremacy.

But What about those aborted for the sake of human right?
Those who enjoyed not the brightness of a day but darkness of a night
Still, evil they baptized as human choice
Forgetting the wounded also have virtues for the world to rejoice.

Gush!  Imagine an irony
Joy slumbers dizzily; nothing seems to be funny
Pandemic arrived to offer the control
Telling all to remain indoor, not to patrol.

Tears here and there
Corners seen, mounted with fear
Then got to know; life to all is too precious
All need it; including unborn, treated as if they don't belong to us.

Stand up oh beautiful world
Let's fight the culture of death in the world
For our ordeal has justified that everyone deserves to live
As countries are on a war to fight corona to leave.

Oh God! Save thy people from these darkest days
For many have joined ancestors for eternal holidays
Turning hearts and minds restless
As daily declares casualties countless.

Yes, nothing greater to be done than prayer
Trust God! He can stop the world's terrible fire
And as well, knows every torn part to be stitched
Not minding how worst it has reached.

Oh Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Mother
Intercede for us, not to experience corona further
But keep us on thy arms to value every life
Born and Unborn equally, without a strife.

And together we invite God's Angels and Saints
To join in battle, and conquer all the existing taints
Which directly and indirectly permeate in every society
To cause disorder to one's divinely made beauty.
