OUR PARACLETE, OUR HOPE by Joseph C. Ogbu (JoeNwaOgbu)

Days with fear, we think we have lost
Looking for what may offer true faith a gentle boost
So that life may drop its worth to every human post
With great courage and love to face its cost.

Today, our worries embrace solution from utmost
With joy we stand akimbo at the doorpost
Welcoming our Mighty Paraclete on the Pentecost
Whose gifts purify believers' hearts from innermost
And tightly keep our intimacy with God unlost.

Yes! You are the promised and true Paraclete
Descended to drop gifts and fruits in everyone’s plate
So to give life a meaningful image to emulate
And to remind Divine laws to everyone not to violate.

Oh Holy Spirit, our Greatest Friend
Please ever lead and stay with us till the end
And give our quaking elbows a heavenly pillar not to bend
So that our earthly mission may have a right base to spend
Since You are the only Friend who knows where life calls for a mend.

Then, with humble heart, we plead
To hear our daily cries and pay heed
So to plant in our hearts a loving and gentle seed
And to uproot in our lives every growing weed
So that our souls and spirits may often live to glorify Your marvelous deed.

Oh Holy Spirit our Comforter, please bless everyone's vocation
That each may be identified and accepted with good intention
Not as a burden but as a precious gift worthy to offer a special protection
And finally we call, Oh Holy Spirit of every generation!
Please bless everyone, that all may arrive at divinely planned destination.
